This

the past, all races have started at the scheduled times.
Race Packets: Available
for pickup Friday between 3pm-5pm at the course near the Awards/Pavillion area
and all day Saturday starting at 8am. Race packets include bibs, safety pins,
course maps, race information and coaches credentials (to teams providing
coaches names) Packets will only be released if entry fee has been paid - no
exceptions.
Race Bibs All
competitors are required to have a race bib. Please check to make sure that your
athlete’s information is correct on the race bib label. Race bibs must to be
worn on the front of the school uniform.
Timing Chips: The
Elite Varsity Girls and Elite Varsity Boys races will be AMB chip timed. The timing
chips will be available at a designated area near the starting line beginning
at 10:00am on Saturday. All competitors in the Elite Varsity races must wear
both a race bib and a timing chip. The chip must be worn around the ankle.
Course Maps: Three
different course maps 3k, 5k, and 8k.
8”x11” black and white course maps will be in the race packets. 4”x6”
color course maps are on the Coach’s credentials and a large full color map
will be located near the Awards/Pavilion area. Color PDF’s of the course maps
are available for download.
Course Closure: Once the races begin at 8:50 a.m.
we ask that your athletes stay off the course. Because of the number of
athletes in each race and out of courtesy for the athletes racing, please keep warm-ups
off the course running lanes.
Mile Markers/Clock: Mile markers for 1, 2, and 3 miles are
posted for the 5k. Race clocks will be located at the 1 mile mark and at the
finish line. Please note the race clocks are for reference only and are not the
official time.
Race Announcers: Race announcers will be located at
three different areas around the course. At the start/finish line area, the
awards area, and at the top of Spectator Hill.
Race Results: Approximately 20 minutes
following the finish of each race “unofficial” race results will be posted near
the Awards/Pavilion area and hard copies will be made available to coaches (two
per school per race and will only be released to coaches with “Bob Firman coach
credentials”) Coaches will have 30 minutes following the posting of the
unofficial race results to bring any finish order discrepancies to the
attention of the meet referee. These unofficial race results will become
official 30 minutes after being posted unless contested results are still being
reviewed by meet judges.
Results
for each race will be posted on the meet website bobfirmanxc.org approximately
15 minutes after becoming “official”.
Full meet
results will be e-mailed Saturday evening to media outlets. Media contacts that
were provided by coaches that responded to our media contact information request will be receiving the results.
Race
Result Labels Souvenir race result
labels will be available at the Awards/Pavilion area approximately 60 minutes
following the finish of each race. Souvenir labels have each individual runner’s
place and finish time. Many athletes like to stick these labels on their race
bibs.
